1968 pontiac 2-speed powerglide transmission question!?

i have a 2 speed pontiac racing transmission (powerglide) that i am looking to sell. (with the shifter too) .. it is for a racing car.

i am wondering how much it is worth. i was told around $500.

i'm a complete car noob, so any help is appreciated!

...like i said, this was in my grandpa's garage and his neighbor was saying how much it's worth, and that it is a "Racing transmission"...
i have the shifter too, and it's only 2 gears... no reverse.

i will try to post some pics in a few...
 
I don't believe that a powerglide can, or could have ever claimed
racing status. This is an automatic if I'm not mistaken.

Try listing it on ebay and list what makes it a racing trans.
but first, be sure you know what you've got there.

Forgive me if I'm mistaken. but my 68 Chevelle Malibu had a
powerglide and that was no racing auto trans.

Although I treated it like one ( LOL )
 
Core value is 65.00 for the entire transmission.....rebuilt power glides in Oklahoma City sell for 350.00 to 1200.00 depending on the parts used and the application.....
