1968 Caprice two door electrical diagnosis. How should I approach it?

My step dad has a 1968 Caprice two door. The problems are as follows. The brake lights wont light up and the front and rear turn signals do not work. If you hit the turn signal lever nothing happens. The rear brake, parking, and signal lights do not light up. So stepping on the pedal does not light up the brake lights. The four way flashers do not work. The headlights are fine and the front turn signal and parking lights do illuminate but wont flash when the turn signal lever is actuated. I checked all the fuses and they are not blown. I don't have much experience with classic cars so can anyone lend a hand? Thanks Just need a few tips like are the brake lights part of the turn signal circuits or will a bad brake switch render the turn signals inoperative.
