Not really. Unless you are familiar with older carberated engines. If it was a teen that really apreciated what it was. Its not going to be to great on gas if its a v8. Ive seen alot of younger people, well older too get a older carberated car flooded and blame it on the car. They need to understand that most of them operate a lil different than a fuel injected car. That car needs to be taken care of thers not that many around.

It is not a good car for a new driver. They are a sought after collectible and are worth considerable money. There is no point to put such a vehicle in the hands of a rookie who will damage it. Get something more suitable like a Honda or other easily replaced vehicle. I wish "sophie" would not make comments based on opinion rather than fact. Cars from the 60's do not require constant tuning. They are much less complex and actually easier and cheaper to fix. I have four of them. I know.

no...they are somewhat collectors items and can fetch a lot of dough
but they are only valuable when they are in one original piece, not something that was wrapped around a telephone pole...

no...a 60s collector car by todays standards requires constant tuning..
and parts aren't cheap...

Plus you don't really learn to drive until about 2-4 years after you get your license, so you tend to bump things..
Insurance would probably run 300.00 a month for a 17 yearold....
