Have owned this car since 1967. Have lost the title and presently in process of putting back together. Car has not been registered for 32 Years
 
You can apply for a lost title at the DMV. If the car is restoration worthy it is a good investment to go through. The new title will hurt the value a bit as well as cost some points at car shows but still worth it in most cases.
Another option is to find a buyer who has a titled one and is looking for parts...if you don't want the hassle of getting the new title.
