Im restoring a Hercules laides looped bicycle and im not sure that the lower bearing cup is correct, or if there is a piece missing. If someone has the same bike, could they send me photos of the lower headstock , or explain what is missing.
the frame bellows outward on the bottom and the race sits flush in that. The lower race fits on the forks, and when i assemble it i can see the tiny bearings - is that normal.
The upper race set is covered by the knurled-threaded upper race.
Maybe im missinga cover on the fork race?
Maybe the race that goes in the bottom of the headstock is the wrong O.D??
Or perhaps this is correct?

The scrapped Herc. used the same bearing races but the frame was slightly diffrent, so covered the lower race.
