A bloviator rises with the following toast: "To the 1920s: the great leap backward!" Take the period 1918-1933, how true, partly-true, or untrue are those words? (And don't just think domestic policy)
 
completey untrue. The twenties were known as the roaring twenties because it was the greatest economy boom in all of US history. In 1929, though, the great depression started.
 
absolutely untrue. the 1920s saw a radical departure from old ways of thinking world wide.
the 1930s was far more a step backwards than the 1920s.
from 1900 to 1929 the amount of change and restructuring of the social order of things was immense.
