Hi all, to whoever happens to read this,

My name is Jordan, I am 19 years old. I've seen too many doctors to count so I figured I'd turn to someone else.

I do not know that I have "anything", but I do know how I've spent the past 19 years... in doctors offices, hospitals, at home in bed, and at work trying to afford to live.

I seem to be rather vulnerable to illnesses. Bronchitis, strep throat, the flu, kidney infections/bladder infections (more bladder infections than anyone I know or have heard of), and other sicknesses I am around. I have tried vitamins, eating certain fooRAB/staying away from certain fooRAB, exercise, you name it most likely. I am on prophylactic antiobiotics, but even those don't seem to keep the infections away.

Doctors thought it was a "phase" that I would outgrow as I got older. I, too, even thought that maybe it would calm or slowly end.

The doctors in my town aren't the brightest (which doesn't sound right in itself), I'm trying to get referred out of the area.

I am currently recovering from a bladder and kidney infection and strep, and I've had the flu as well.

For 19 years I have spent the majority of my life sicker than a dog. No one seems to have answers.

To you, who's reading, do you have any thoughts?

Do you still have your tonsils? If so, you sound a lot like me. I finally had them out at 25 and it was the best thing I did! Rotten tonsils were causing all my problems with strep, sinus infections, ear infections, etc....

Don't know if tonsils would explain the kidney infections. Have you ever had detailed bloodwork to check for some kind of genetic immune disorder? There are a lot of different types, some of which only a handful of people in the world have.

Definitely I would look into more advanced care. A teaching hospital, that is, a hospital attached to a medical school, is a good place for answers to difficult medical questions.

I'd ask to be referef to an immunologist, preferably at a university teaching hospital - s/he is the ebst person to ascertain if all is normal with your immune system.

Have you tred taking selenium, vitamin c, vitamin e and multivitamins, all can boost immunity.

I had similar problems and did 2 of the things listed by others. One, I got my tonsils out at age 19 and that stopped a lot of the throat, sinus and other infections and two, I got but on long term antibiotics for the bladder and kidney infections. Must have spent about 6 months on the antibiotic and was supposed to be on longer but I got pregnant. But it worked. I just needed to be on them long enough to get every last germ eradicated.

Ask about seeing a urologist and get that one problem fixed. Then attack the throat problems. ASk to see an ENT...ear, nose and throat doc. As for flu and colRAB, wash your hanRAB a lot and get a flu shot. I haven't had the flu since getting them annually.

Some of us just things more easily and we have to be proactive on not getting them. But I wouldn't lump the bladder and kidney in with the others....treat them as separate problems and see the right docs. Not all infections are equal.

good luck..............Jenny

Forgot to add, "Twinlab Daily Two" is a great immune boosting multivitamin/antionidant, high doses of al the important immune nutrients, might be worth trying along with the above
