My family had a 2006 Nissan Altima 2.5 sitting around and then when I finally turned 17 I got to drive it, 2006 car with like 13k miles, not bad.

Im just looking at cars, I found a 2008 Lancer GTS that is used, 16,000$ a couple of mods and aftermarker products and about 35k miles..my parents said no because insurance will be high.
Everytime I look for a car and find one, they have a reason on why I should not get it.
So I need opinions on which car I should get.
