This is a rant/give me your input, no so much a question/answer.
Yes, rants aren't allowed, but it's not a negative rant, it's just that we are a community of people with diverse beliefs, opinions, and backgrounds, and I want to hear your opinions.
I'm not sure if 16-6 law is nationwide, but for those who don't know, 16-6 law makes it so that after you pass your tests and stuff to get a license, you don't get a full license yet; you get a "temporary operator permit". You have to wait ANOTHER 6 months before you can get an actual drivers license. The kicker is that during those 6 months, you can't have anybody else in your car but you (with the exceptions of parents/guardians). I think that is dangerous. Although statistics contradict each other, I have firm belief that a single passenger with the driver helps: They can have conversations with each other, which tends to keeps the driver more alert and less monotonous; and the passenger can offer safety support, such as gasping if he sees a danger the driver does not, or checking the drivers blind spots for them. Anymore than one, though, and horseplay may appear between the passengers, and greater peer pressure arises.
