1408

Just watched this film again, and I highly recommend it, but I'd like to know why UK viewers didn't get the same ending as the US audience? I wouldn't mind if both were on the DVD, but they aren't.

I can't go into any detail about the endings without spoiling it for those who haven't yet seen the film, but it makes me cross to know there's another ending out there and I cannot see it!!!

To summarise the story for those who may not know of it, John Cusack plays a world weary ghost hunter who makes a living out of staying at inns and hotels across the US which are supposedly haunted, and then writes about them. So far he has yet to see any evidence of hauntings, until one day he receives an anonymous message warning him not to stay in room 1408 at The Dolphin in NYC. Obviously he becomes determined to stay there, and the story proceeRAB from that.

It's a really good film, good and creepy.

Yeah, a favourite film of mine as well. I like how Samuel L. Jackson's character was never really explained - you didn't get any hints about him and whether or not he might be the devil or anyone like that.

Didn't realise the US ending was different though ..

I watched this in the pictures and thought mmmmm ok.

Since i read online about the 2 endings i had to watch it again through another source.

Good having alternative endings and i actually enjoyed it more than the first viewing.
