14 weeks pregnant and experiencing sharp period like pains :(?

I have had them majority of the day yesterday last night and still having them this morning.
What could this be? I did go swimming yesterday with my son and he accidentally kicked my tummy (not very hard at all)... could this be why? I have had no bleeding or anything. Do I need to ring the midwife?
