12V 7Ah battery

Never Lose Hope

Hi I am attempting to charge a 12V 7Ah lead acid battery with my Imax charger. I have it on the pB setting at 1amp charge on the 12V setting. It says that it will charge to 14.7V It has been charging for over 2hrs! and is now sitting on 14.7V but it is not stopping. Am I doing it right and how long does it take to charge?
Also I am using this battery for a Duece Comp Heater 12V but if this battery charges to 14.7V, will it be too much for the heater causing damage?

The max voltage for the Heater is 12.6v, so that would be a yes, too much voltage for the heater.

Check out this page on Comp heaters.

Thanks Wade. Batteries do my head in!! Especially when showing false nurabers! So am I charging it right? And how long does it normally charge for?

That's normal, lead acid batteries don't charge very fast. It can take several hours to top them off, and you should, best to keep a lead acid charged. Assuming it's a traditional lead acid (not AGM, sealed, etc), 14.7V is on the high end but acceptable for a full charge voltage.
