12A's

Most of the new releases are being tagged a 12A now. Thats all well and good but not at the expense of cuts please!!.

Sinbad has been snipped to make it a PG rather than a scary 12A!!!. Charlie's Angels:Full Throttle CUT for 12A, 2 Fast 2 Furious CUT!! for 12A.

Films want to make money, but it's going to far here, the BBFC are a dinosaur in there approach to film.

Head butts are still the bad boys when it comes to cuts, but some do slip through.

On a similar theme, why has the Terminator series sunk to comic book level(12A)??.

I haven't seen Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines but in the States the distributors added a couple of F-worRAB to secure the film an 'R' rating.

The BBFC have relaxed their ruling on F-worRAB on '12A' films so it passed without cuts.

T3 just seemed so tame! It could have easily got an PG13 if Warner Bros wanted to.

Still this movie is no excuse for other PG13 cuts we get in our 12A rating.

If the BBFC continues down this path I will look for alternatives to watch movies. (there is a simple free option; nowadays! :) )

I am not paying for anything cut!!

I have an R2 DVd player but am seriously considering a multi region one now, the CUTS in the UK released movies is becoming a joke(and totally unnecessary!).

People will still go and see good 15 and 18 rated stuff, they don't need the young audience for every movie surely!(making everything a 12A movie after it's been through the BBFC viewing, THANKS ALOT DISTRIBUTERS!!)

Greed kills........:(

yes, if you go 2 the BBFC website, somewhere it says: Any film with 2 incidences of "f**k" and it goes automatically to a 15.

Various films have more than 2 f**ks and are 12.

Rat Race has 5 incidences of f**k

I'm not entirely sure that Terminator 3 IS cut in the uk. According to the BBFC website, the submitted film has been passed uncut, but then that doesn't mean it hasn't been altered by the distributors before submission.

The U.K is just living in the past, especially considering the world we now live in.......

Terminator 3 director Jonathan Mostow has stated that there will be NO extened Directors cut of T3, scotching the rumours that have been circulating. Quote from a recent interview done at the London premiere by the 'thearnoldfans.com' website:

TAFs: Were there any scenes that were cut from T3 that you would love to see back on the DVD?

Mostow: No, you know what, the director's cut of the movie is shown in that theatre tonight. So there's nothing else I want to add.

The Wrost Thing i Can Reber is Dath Wish 2 was on tv it cut to Rebres back in the late 80s i reber wathch on Video the wear no cuts that i could be worge the Cimea visin Mit be differnt but the bbfc has gony a litte Sill of in the post thea was U.A .AA .X we still hava U. plus we now hava PG.12a.15.18:confused:

For a 12A I thought there was a high level of violence in this film. Having seen T3 in the states and again over here the w/e (a mate wanted to see it and it was too hot to venture outdoors!) I didn't spot any cuts. As for the lack of 'moneyshots' involving blood I didn't have a real problem with that. A lot of the violence was 'implied' and involved machine against machine. Overall its still a good cinema experience. At the showing I went to there were a number of daRAB with their kiRAB and for the sake of toning down some of the violence/swearing surely this is good for the film/cinema industry as a whole?

Do we need to see someone torn to pieces with a power tool when a splatter of blood and a scream suffices? There was enough violence on screen (and off) to keep me and most of the audience happy. The days of the first terminator have moved on now that there is more money is a 'good terminator' so we aren't going to see arnie kill people in cold blood but the T-X more than makes up for this.

"Good Terminators"!!. I'm sick of this, let's have Robert Patrick back as the souless machine again!, and ditch that old piece of obselete junk that is Arnie.....

The worst cut-up I ever saw on TV was also in the early-mid 90s. When the Robocop TV series was released, ITV showed a version of the original Robocop film to accompany it at 3 in the afternoon :D They just cut chunks here and there - it literally made no sense! The dubbing was awful too - I'm sure they used a British guy trying to do a US accent!!! It was so bad it was funny it really was!

Robocop 3 was slowly heading that way sadly. It was the most "comic strip"one of the series. The tv series and tv movies are even more dire!!.

Robocop was never intended to be family entertainment, but it appears that the rights holders to great ideas are letting any one have a go at putting out something inferior!.

I've still not seen T3 as yet, but from what I've read, it looks like a shallow continuation of the story, a missed opportunity I guess.

Anyhow, i'm sure I'll have the DVD come December......
