12 year old son discussing his pending death with friends?

I had a call from school today saying that my son was overheard talking about his predicted death in 3 years time and how it was going to happen.
I am in shock, why would he discuss such a thing when he seems such a 'happy go lucky' boy and loved by so many? Help! any answers for a very distressed mother....
 
statistics show that those who talk about suicide to others, very rarely ever go through with it. dont trip; but keep an eye on him.
 
I have seen some pop up web sites where you can go and "find out when and how you or a friend are going to die" If he seems like a happy go lucky kid maybe he will tell you where he learned this info. This is something that I would take seriously and really try to talk with him about it. You really need to make sure that he is not intending on harming himself. Good luck. Tweens can be really hard to figure out.
