1198S or 1198?

How often do you plan on takin' it to the track? If quite a bit I would seriously consider the "S" but if not, why spend all that extra $ on something you're just going to put around on the street, ya know?
That's what I would take into consideration. But either way, unbelieveable bike!

BTW, what do you guys think of open clutch cover? How does that work if small rocks got in there? What about rain? Yes, I ride rain or shine and even pouring! That was how I ride back in Asia. The only transportation without any choice.

You'd be very unlucky to get a rock in there unless the bike is sliding down the road on it's side.

Riding in the rain won't hurt it either as long as it is running. Sitting while wet though will probably cause surface rust on the plates and cause it to bind together. This rust will probably accelerate the wear somewhat depending on how often it happens.

You just need to keep it dry whilst stationary imo.

speaking clutches..........i cleaned the inside of the oem clutch cover before my last track day, took it off today for a looksy....the entire inside of the cover is coated again with clutch crap

I dont think you can get an S for under 22000 OTD, most dealer wont budge more than 2500 under MSRP. I look at bikes this way, if your gonna get wheels then get the S, if you wont get wheels get the base model. The Ohlins isn't that great because it is still way over sprung and still too little compression dampening so base or S you will need a revalve of the suspension components...but the S gets carbon fender and Ohlins damper which is HUGE. The stock non-adjustable damper should be used solely as a paper weight

FREAKING dealer trying to play hard to get. Screw them, I will go the other one. They also refuse to let me know which bank approves my loan. Anyone knows if I have rights to get the loan information? I am trying to bring the loan to other dealer.
