1098 or RSV1000

I am not a Ducati sellout but I was thinking about picking up a litre bike. I am mostly gonna be using it for everyday riding and not the track. Occasionally it will see some track days. I want to hear opinions from people that have experienced both these bikes and not from people that don't know anything else but Ducatis.

This subject was beaten to death about a year ago....but there's lots of good info in that thread and you may enjoy reading it....

I posted several times in that thread since I do own both bikes and have ridden them both plenty. Not just a quick ride on somebody elses....but years of ownership and satisfaction. Love them both. Own them both, my only issue is how to get that RSV4 in my garage to match my R. Good luck with your decision.

I have been set on buying a 1198S since I heard about it, but have also been comparing it to the other vtwin and high end sport bikes. So far nothing has really challenged it as far as my choice, but I have found some bikes that may make their way into my garage alonside the 1198.

The Aprilia is an awesome bike no doubt! But if you honestly want one I'd wait for the RSV4!! KTM also upgraded their RC8 to an RC8R which has 1198cc's now instead of the 1148cc's the RC8 had!

well, everyone is talking about the Aprilia not being a match for the 1098/1198, I understand that. But seriously lets all put down this bad boy racer front. how often you take your bike out for a ride by you self, with your girl/wife or with your buddies and take the bike to the limit or even over 120mph. due to traffic laws, traffic and common sense its not possible that often. When I first started this thread I mentioned that I was looking for an everyday bike which occassionally will find its way on the track. I often ride my cousin's 848 which is an amazing bike but a bit uncomfortable for everyday. So I was looking to see if an aprilia would still give me a thrill on the stret and be a bit more comfortable around town than the 1098/1198.

you didnt state you've ridden an 848 and find it uncomfortable so we couldnt relay info on the topic correctly. With this being said, I would go for an aprilia then b/c as you know the 848/1098/1198 will all feel the same. I think you've already made your mind up on the Aprilia though. Not a bad choice by any means!
