1098 or 848???

Coming from overrated overweight Harley ,the worm has definitely turned for you my friend. one thing i don't get someone said that the 848 had cheaper components on it can someone elaborate, the steering damper is all i can think of and most everyone puts a ohlins on anyway 848 or 10 ,1198. i think once set up the 848 is lighter more flick able, and with suspension upgrades is perfect, at least for me and i feal its defanatly a beter option for the street. Congrats on the new bike if you don't have a background in super bikes especially of the top calibre machine you have chosen,take it easy read some books on sport riding techniques they will help, be humble and respect the power .
 
What ever you do, make sure you ride the 848 first. When I was making my purchase I requested to test ride both the 848 and 1198 to do a comparison. Instead, they had me demo their 1198s first, after the test ride I didn't even bother test riding the other two bikes, since I was instantly sold on the 1198s. I'm just glad they didn't have me start with the 1098R or I probably would have bought that instead.
