1098 or 848???

I love my 848 and get lot's of thumbs up from other riders and cagers, unless I am riding in a Ducati group. Then no one says anything. Can you say snobbery?

It is a great first superbike, made for the street, unlike the 1098. (says Ducati)

but be careful, it is a rocket.

I will never need more power, but my EGO, says I want the 1198. White of course.

Fascinating stuff here!

I am on the fence and have not decided what to get.

I am going to buy my next ride for the track, not for the street, not for twisties, not for squid night at the Dairy Queen, but for track weekends.

My home track, Barber Motorsports Park, is tight and I think the 848 would more at home there than a liter bike or the 1098. At Miller? That might be a different story...

Coming off of a Harley I would recommend something other than both of them!

Honestly it comes down to what other have said and thats what you want. I hve been a 600cc track day junky for years and i wanted my first liter bike, thats why i got my 1098s. you have to be more forgiving with it but i enjoy knowing i have the extra power there when / if i need it. either way you wont be dissapointed imo. Good luck in your search =)

Well...I bought the 1098s...my first ever superbike...only regret is...didn't get the R. Just to show you the mind game ha...that goes with women too but that's a different forum...good luck!

ALLRIGHT! That is what we like to hear! you are gonna love this baby! No doubt about it. You have to keep us posted and tell us your first impressions, how it feels the first time you sit on YOUR Ducati etc.

congrats man! I hope its everything you're dreamed of and more! I cant wait to get home and ride mine for the first time! Its killing me knowing I have this beautiful Machines ive lusted over for years sitting there waiting on me to get home and have my way with her...oh and I'll be happy to see my girlfriend too...

I love my R even more than I did my S, but had I known about the Baylis LE...
Actually, I think I'd feel a bit pretentious riding "his" bike. On the other hand, it IS gorgeous and there are only 150 as opposed to 450. It never ends.

Congratulations, you'll love that bike.
