Funny - I can't believe it's this fast and doesn't use more gas. I put a lot of freeway miles on a tank yesterday, speeds around 75 - 110, light came on at 95 miles. Hard canyon riding will bring it on at around 80 miles.
About 35 mpg between fill-ups for normal city stuff. I'm not whacking the throttle all the time -- mileage drops when I do that.
I think I managed at least 45 mpg coming back from Deals Gap last night -- mostly interstates and expressways at pretty moderate (limit +10 mostly) speeds on account of all the speedtraps I saw in NC.
Hi Everyone. New guy to the forum here. I have a standard model that I got about 6 weeks ago and have 2800 miles on now. I normally get about 30 mpg. Last weekend I was riding out in the middle of nowhere with long distances between gas stations so I was filling it up until it overflowed. the longest distance I got before the reserve light came on was 120 mi.
On April 21st John Harvey at eti-fuelcel.com said "I feel your pain so I'm definately going to make an endurance model of the 1098. Probably 1.3 gallons more without sacrificing looks much at all. I am still waiting on the tank to arive, probably next week. Then it will be 4 weeks before it's ready. I'll keep you posted."
NEVER would have thought it....but last Saturday I filled up the tank to the neck and rode the freeeway up to LA with some other 1098s. We probably ran between 65-90 mph the whole way, doing some frequent lane changing and accelerations. When we reached our meeting spot, I refilled to the neck....56 miles on 1.34 gallons....41.7 mpg !! Full Termis and all.....
