1098/1198 engine in an 848?

Will the 1098/1198 engine fit just fine and work in the 848? I think they are the same frame basically right?

I ask just because I really wanna go all out with mods on my 848 but in 5 years or so I see myself wanting an 1198 for sure.

Sooo......as to not have to buy all the mods again for the 1198 or to swap them either, what about putting an 1198 engine in my 848 when it wears out or I get bored?

Just thought I'd ask for future reference lol. Plus who knows, maybe over the next few years I'll find a great deal on an 1198 engine and start doing a performance build of it in anticipation of the swap when I'm ready...

i'm pretty sure the only difference between the 1098 frame and 848 frame is the mounting tab for the steering damper.

Its kind of crazy to think how progressive they are.

Someone else asked the same question on another thread, a little while back it should still be up. First Im sure somebody will come up with a big bore kit if it already doesn't exist. If you do swap engines would you also get the larger rear wheel, and brakes? Wouldn't it be cheaper, faster, and less teadious to just buy a 1098, 0r 1198 and swap over the aftermarket components you want to keep, and sell the 8.

Pretty sure there's alot more different between the 2 frames other than the damper tab. Tube size, motor mount points and such. Anything is do-able though and being tubular steel, it's easy enough to chop, cut and re-build.
