Hello,
Could someone help? There are a lot of x264/720, x264/1080 available now a day over dvd format in the movie section. This x264 formats is for computer viewing only? Can it be watch on new flat panel TV such as Plasma/Lcd and how?
Thank you in advance.

of course you can, through media servers like tversity or if you want, you could use NMTs (Popcorn Hour etc.) :)

Personally I've used Popcorn and am utilizing it to watch my HD stuff on the telly. But I do remember some problems with different encoding profiles (something like 4.1 or 5.1), but am not too clear with that :S

Still it works most of the time though!

Popcorn Hour 110 user here. The best HD player I have ever tried. I find it better than watching the movies through my computer using my TV as monitor.

That's the one I thought of getting because of the price. But then I started reading a lot on the Popcorn Hour and even though it's not cheap, it has great features and the support is not that bad. New firmware comes out every 2-3 months.

I went for the PCH-110 because it comes with Wireless N. But I don't think it's worth it. Oh yeah the 110 model also comes with HDM 1.3.

Anyways you can't really stream HD movies, not even connected with a Network cable. It will lag. I just have it connected with wire and upload all content to the internal HDD via ftp.

I think the WD TV HD Media Player. Is a good alternative though.
