When I was 18, I very stupidly signed up for a $500 credit card. Needless to say, I didn't pay it and here we are ten years later. I was initially called a few weeks ago and they were pressuring me into making a payment in full before I got off the phone that day or they wouldn't settle. I hung up and they've called me every day since then.
I'm acknowledging the debt. My question is, doesn't credit card debt fall off of your record after 7 years? This Portfolio Recovery Associates have a disclaimer saying that this is not a debt collection and not to be used in order to recover a debt. What's that all about? Is this a scam?
