...sprained/broken arm/wrist?7daysag? My puppy fell from my face height (about 5'5") and she yelped when she fell and started crying. She hasn't used her front left paw for 6 days now. However, we can touch her nails, all her bones and all her paw without her yelping at all. My husband thinks it's a sprain. I have her up on shots, and have gotten estimates for xrays. I started an online fundraiser to help us get her to the vet (going through VERY hard times) and I was wondering... does anybody know the main difference on how to tell if it's a sprain or a break? I think she fell on her paw bend underneath her- so the likelihood of her spraining and not breaking is higher?
I did talk to about 20 different vets. Two ladies told me that she'd be okay to "see how it does" for about a week, so that's why we've waited, too. (Besides not having the unexpected potential emergency situation.)
So, do you have any answer to the question of how to tell if it's a sprain or a break? If you can touch all of the bones, and not have any reaction whatsoever, then it's not a break, right?
Also, I am a good pet owner. I have gotten her all of her shots, and spayed, and taught her stay, heel, sit, leave it, go potty, and give me some sugar in just two weeks.
