'10 SG rim on a 07???

Spent some time in dealer yesterday. By luck, they had a front wheel off a 2007 and a front wheel off a 2009 (09 same as 10 I'm being told) and I was able to lay this question to rest. Axle threads and axle nuts are differrent, as mentioned above, but has no effect on mounting 2010 wheel on 2007. Axle diameters (where bearings will ride) are ONLY .010 different. So, if you have the resource, all you need to do is grind or turn .010 off 2007 axle, get 2010 wheel (with 2010 factory bearings) and assemble together. Simple as that.

I have done no research on rotor and fitment, but I will be shortly as I have the 2010 wheel already, just waiting to get time to put on my 2007 street gllide.

Good to hear. I am still considering all options on this. A machine shop should be able to turn the axle. From what I have looked at we will need to use 07 disks, wonder if they will mount up? Another issue I am concerned about is tires. I would like to use the same tire series on front and rear. Maybe this is not critical, what do you think?

I personally wouldn't run mismatched tires, but I know a fair amount of people do with no problem. If your going to swap out your front wheel though, I would recommend that you go with a 10 RGC or SG wheel as they are 18 inch and have a lot more tire options then the 17" wheel used in 09 and all but the RGC and SG in 10.

Make sure you get the nut with the axle. 07 nut is different size. If you can get a shop to grind/turn ($20) would be cheaper route and no need for any different spacers.

thats what this thread is about. your 06 front end is the same as my 07. I now believe the answer is yes. I am going to pick up a take off rim from a '10 SG or RG, add new rotors for an 07. I'll either buy an axle and spacers from an 08-newer or have my axle turned down. As far as tires go, I'm leaning toward a set of E-3's, 130/70-18 front and 160/80 rear. Metzelers are another option.

Thats exactly what I'm thinking, E3's 130 front 160 back '10 SG wheel out front and 06 SG wheel out back, I just need to get my dirty little fingers on the wheels!

In all likelihood I'll probably end up buying a used set of 06 SG rims and then buying a new '10 rim.
