I think they should be used because that's what a lot of teens have to experience, there are a lot of people who complain about sex scenes in a teen story but a lot of kids are already having sex by the time they are 10!
I'm writing a story and my main character is a 15 year old girl who is involved with alcohol and drugs and who is having sexual intercourse with guys from her school but also with older men for money. She has an abusive father who is a drunk and doesn't watch after her. Her dad is involve with a gang and is murdered. Having no one to live with in her home in Florida the police find her mom and she is force to move to Alaska where her mom lives. She finds out she was kidnapped by her father when she was born and she has a twin sister, two older brothers and a younger brother. The story talks about her life going through high school and meeting a guy who helps her overcome her problems in the new town.
Do you think sex, alcohol and drugs should be used in teen books?
Why, why not?
Also, what would be cool twist to throw into the story, should she become pregnant?
I'm writing it and will post it on wattpad, I'm writing it for fun. I'm not planing to publish or anything like that.
