okay im having a lot of trouble at the moment understanding this
the quetsion is "determine the mass of one atom of Cl"
the answer is 35.45 (the atomic mass number) times the atomic mass UNIT (1.661x10^-24) and that gives 5.89x10^-23 grams as the weight for 1 atom...
i thought that the atomic mass number is the weight for 1 atom ?? why do you have to times it to the atomic mass unit
and what is the atomic mass unit
