10.0.x.x users?

I see a number of search results telling me 10.0.x.x as their IP, but that's a reserved block for internal private networks. As such, you can't connect to those servers. What causes that? Any way to figure out what the "real" host is to connect to it?

Even if you could figure out what the "real" IP of the machine is, it is only the IP of the firewall. As an IP that starts with 10. is an internal IP that is not useable by the outside world. That is what the push request is for, to tell that client to open a connection with you.

The Gnutella client determines the local IP address and assumes you can connect to it. If you check the box 'behing firewall' then they will initiate the connection to you. Provided you are not behind a firewall, this will work fine.
