Okay so today I installed a new alternator on a 07 caliber(PIA btw) but anyways.... the old alt was definetly shot... at first the battery light came on 3 weeks ago for an hour and then went back off... in the midst of this sounded like maybe one of the idler pulleys started making noise so we replaced all the idler and tensioner pulleys and then guess what the noise was still there, so got some 3/8 fuel line and heard the noise in the alt... very loud btw... so recently the batt light came back on and stayed on and the alt wasnt charging unhooked the battery and guess what it shut off.... so back to the question... put the new alternator in noise is gone but no vlatage coming out of the alternator it is not charging the battery.... the wire and the plug in are on and secured properly(tight) so before we take the alt back off and take it back to napa for another replacement is there anything that would keep it from charging like maybe a fuse or something like that??? You never know?? I work on cars every day its my job, but i just wanna make sure before i drive another hour to the car and spend another two hours doing the job for no reason...
