My 06 Mazda 6 has been working fine with no issue up until now. No recent work had been done. Parked the car on even ground with 3/4 a tank of gas.

I go to start the car this afternoon and it won't turn over. Instead, the dash and indicator lights all blink extremely rapidly while making an electronic clicking noise. If I set to acc the lights, radio etc will work. ( though the radio was sometimes muffled ... dont know whats up with that) However, I can't get the engine to turn over. No noise or movement from the engine AT ALL.

I use my wife's car to jump mine and voila ... it starts. I drive around a bit, stop the car after 20 minutes. Won't start. I get jumped again and go to AutoZone. He tried to jump it with the box. Wouldn't work, needed my wifes car. We jump it.They test the battery and say that it looks fine .. 14amps, constant %, though when he sent a charge it dropped to 6, 8 and then back to 14. He disconnects the battery while its running ... car stays running. He says that eliminates the alternator. He suggests maybe the starter or spark plugs.

Doesn't make sense to me because the car was not "whining" when trying to start so I don't think it's the starter. The car was not losing power when driving before which is sometimes indicative of spark plugs. I also doubt the immobilizer is the cause because why would it work with a jump?

I drive home. Turn off car, try to restart just in case and again .. wont work 3x in a row.

I get depressed take a nap, go to the garage 5 hours later to try ... now it starts no problem !?!?!?!?!

Worried and wondering what could be wrong.
tried again this morning and it stuttered a bit and then started. Seems like the battery, but had it tested at AutoZone and they said it was fine...

if it takes a jump but then wont start after you turn if off it's your battery
if your head lights are dim that makes it a sure thing .put your wifes battery in it for a test and see if it still does it
