I have an 06 Ford Focus LX Auto (ex government) with 45000km on the clock and have owned it less than 3 months and ran out of warranty 2 days ago. Last week it started threatening to stall (car was about to stall and then the Revs went back up) and then a couple of days later it started stalling when changing from Reverse to Drive and Drive to Reverse but it would tend to only happen if the engine was cold and it wouldn't always happen. Today, I just got back from a 30min drive from uni and went to start it 10mins later and it wouldn't start. It finally started on the 3rd attempt. I know its not the battery as it was replaced about 3000km and that battery is still under warranty. My mechanic looked at the car and said it was a computer problem, so I took it to my auto electrician and he said $80 just to look at it. Any ideas on what it is and how to fix it?
