I have an 06 Ford Explorer 2 wd that has had the gas cap light to come on on the dash. I replaced the cap with a new cap thinking the o ring was shot, killed the code, and drove on. The light came back on later. I changed the fuel filter thinking the filter was clogged (the tank would not pressurize, no hiss when you remove the cap). Killed the code again, and the light came back on. I checked the hoses going to the tank for leaks, there are none, I'm stumped as to what is stuck open so thar the tank will not pressurize and the light keeps coming on. Can anyone offer a fix?
