03 Honda 600RR to 08 Ducati 1098

oh no, not another 848 v 1098 thread.

Guys, leave him alone. His DREAM bike is a 1098. Let him buy a 1098 without trying to persuade him otherwise. His heart is set on it. Didn't you read that?

Dude, just ignore them. Bloody 848 owners!!! They just keep causing trouble wherever they go.

Get the 1098. If money is no problem, get the S with the Ohlins suspension, put on a TTX rear shock, and race valve kit in the forks, a full system, and you'll have the best bike in the world.

If you don't have the cash, get the base, put a TTX shock on, a race valve and spring kit in the forks, a full system, and you'll have the next best thing, only a little cheaper.

Don't listen to them 848 guys, you follow your dream buddy.

Haha no worries South Aus, got no issues here with 848's trying to recruit. Will definitely look into your recommendations. Very much appreciate the info. Well, just a quick question, if I decide to go with a slip-on, let's say arrow for example. Is it imperative that I get the ECU, or can I run it with the stock ECU?

Stock ECU is fine, you only experience really noticeable gains (HP gains that is, sound is always improved) is with the DP ECU and full system (headers).

Well imma say something that'll probably upset alot of people. But honestly Arrow is probably tied with my first choice. Looking at a Yosh or either a 2Bros. Now, I dropped to 2Bros earlier today. So now its kinda between the Yosh or the Arrow. Dig the sound of the Arrow. Diggin how the Yosh looks. Yea yea i know a Japanese billboard on my beautifully built Italian masterpiece. But I dig the sound the product and the look. I could try to have them NOT put the logo on the cans, but Yosh I think is a pretty good product and why wouldn't you want to show that you have a Yosh. I had an Erion slip-on exhaust on my 600RR. Application was cake and absolutely loved the sound, thats why I considered the 2Bros. But I dunno, besides the whole issue of have a japanese billboard on the 1098 (which in my mind doesn't matter, if its a good product, why not! *btw im Filipino-Mexican, Japanese, and Italian so im not bias haha), Arrow vs. Yosh, which slip-on would you chose and why? Thanks in advanced.

Yosh. I think the all carbon looks totally sick, I think the Arrows aren't as pretty, but I haven't heard either one of them.

I have MiVV Suono's on mine, I love the sound and the look, I'm going to get the metal painted black and the carbon tips look cool. Just something to think about.

When I got my MiVV the Yosh's weren't out yet, and I honestly would have got them instead because I think it's a good brand PLUS they look disgusting. I've had tons of Yoshimura pipes on ATVs, dirt bikes etc and I've never been disappointed.

Totally agree! Really leaning towards the Yosh unless someone really gives me a better reason not too. What is going to be f*ckin annoying is that all the cats at work that ride ride a dual-sport bmw and once I decided to go with a 1098, all i've been hearing is jealousy. No joke jealousy. These cats want a Duc but don't have the stones to ride one (let alone any superbike) and can't afford one because they've spent their money on a their dual sport and GPS and blackberry mounting systems. So I know, if anyone, who would give me sh!t about a Yosh on a Duc, would be them. I've been riding for 5 years, mid 20's, but a conservative and responsible rider. I've gotten the wheelie, burnout, and endo side out of me. Not as exciting anymore, it gets old sometimes. So now I want a well crafted machine to enable my passion for motorcycles and Ducatis specifically. That's why i'm here. haha.

I ain't no expert, but be careful running the stock ecu and slip ons. Adding slip ons will lean the bike out. The replacement ecu compensates for this. But don't take my word for it. Do your homework before you purchase. There is a lot of information on the subject out there, on this forum, and on other forums.

I have both answers on this forum. But I have time to make my decision, ill probably pick up the bike in the next couple weeks, then probably decide on exhaust maybe a month after that. But will ofcourse do extensive research and comparisons before i make my decision.
