I just got my 02' tribute, a little less than a month ago. the first night i got it, stupid me left on the interior light ALL night long...but there was no problem. then i THINK i left the defroster on all night... the engine barely started...but it did after a few tries...anywho, a few days go by..no problems..then after school, my car is COMPLETLY dead, the engine didnt even try to turn over, and i know i didnt leave anything on that day. but since about the first day i got it i noticed a little red battery light that would come on for about half a minute when i first started driving...back on track...i just yesterday got a new battery for it, and even new battery cables. so my question is, is it normal for that red battery looking light to come on for about half a minute when i first start driving? HELP! im scared..... :(

Have your electrical system checked. That light will come on if the alternator is not charging. Also, if there is a malfuncion with the alternator, they have been known to cause a parasitic draw even while the car is off, and completely drain the battery.
