'02 Dodge Ram 1500 Question: How much gas do I have?

I'm driving a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500, Quad Cab 4.7 Litre. It's 2 wheel drive. The 'Low Fuel' light just turned on, and I need to know approximately how many miles I have left, because I need to drive into the town a handful of miles away and can't risk running dry on the highway.
 
put a gas can in the back and trip it when light comes on, you need to be careful running out of gas though because your fuel pump can go bad from running dry
