02 dodge dakota check engine light?

the check engine light came on its not my air filter or my gas cap or anything but i was messin around with it by turning my key on and off and on the odometer it said p check... does that mean anything
and pls dont tell me bring it in to a shop im lookin for ways to self fix it or at least know whats wring
 
The p check is a code error

You will have to have the computer scanned to find out what code it is throwing

eg:
P0340- cam position sensor

about any auto parts store does free computer scanning

Then they can look up the code and get the part to fix it for you.
 
its just a emmissions thing, bring it to a auto parts store and they will find whats wrong for free.
