just started today, 2001 ford ranger 4x4 4.0 v6 with 4 speed auto trans with overdrive.
ran fine last night, hopped in it this morning & any time driving over 20 mph there is a loud whine that sounds EXACTLY like an emergency squad siren but the trans shifts fine & 2 wheel drive/4x4 works fine.
even when in neutral it does this when coasting over 20 & the front end is for sure disengaged,
