'01 dodge ram won't reverse?

Reversed fine this am, then wouldn't reverse when got to destination 40 miles later. Pulled out in drive and a few minutes later started making noise. Made it to store and added trans fluid(although levels within range) no more noise, but still no reverse. Upon getting home when put in reverse makes noise attempting to reverse HELP!!!

Mike D is right its time to rebuild the transmission.

is the fluid burnt in it or does it look good and clean ,if fluid is good and clean you may need to have a shop take a look at it,i doubt there's very little you can do for it,if its over 100k on miles it may need it rebuilt,good luck.

sounds like your trans needs to be rebuilt, the next gear to go will be the low gear
