Most likely cause is low fluid level in the transmission.
Make sure the car is warmed up and check the fluid level while running.
If the fluid level is OK then you either have a failing torque converter or torque converter solenoid or possibly a valve body valve sticking.
Best to take it to a good transmission man at that point.
