okay so we thought there may have been an alarm that was ripped out of the car inappropriately and that turned out to not be the case we have two symptoms and they may be connected. We are looking for a starting point.

Symptom 1: with no key in the ignition you press down the brake pedal and all the accessories (radio, dash lights, etc.) turn on. In addition the car remains running if you turn the key off but have the brake pedal pressed, once the pedal is released the car shuts off. To sum up symptom 1 the brake pedal acts as the "on" position for the ignition switch

Symptom 2: The right turn signal does not work the dash indicator goes on solid. There are no burnt bulbs front or rear. The brake, running and hazards fully work just not the left signal independently.

These may or may not be related to each other any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

For problem 1 it sounds like the brake switch is sending power to the ignition switch.

The flasher is burnt out for the inop turn sugnal. Its a small cheap piece, probably on the fuse box. The other seems to be you have a hot ignition lead tied into your brake pedal switch. If you think you can do it, undo whatever you did and look at a manual and schematics if you want to tackle it yourself or take it to an automotive electrican. Good luck!!
