007: "The Spy Who Loved Me"

This came out 3 years after "The Man With The Golden Gun" (1974) instead of just 2,
compared to the films that were made before (1967-73) and after (1979-89 and 1995-99)
which all had 2-year intervals between them.

Good timing? After all, it is the most popular Bond movie with Roger Moore (IMHO the best of them all).
 
TMWTGG actually came out only 1 year after the preceding Live and Let Die.

The reason for the delay was that co-producer Harry Saltzman had financial troubles and had to sell his share of the franchise.
So it took a bit longer to set things up as Cubby Broccoli became the sole producer
