00 jeep grand, need help with audio system?

so i have a 00 jeep grand cherokee laredo.
i want to get a new CD system because the stock is just not workin so hot.
is there anything that i can get w/o getting new speakers, but still have semi good bass?
not too expensive is another factor

Well a cheap Alpine head unit would still make your stock speakers sound better than your stock head unit did. But without buying new speakers it will make only a pinch of difference. Aftermarket speakers are the way to go if you just want a little pump of bass but anything more just get a nice 10 inch sub and take your car to a new level:)
