    Can Chevy 305's work on 10w30 or 10w40, or are the oil journals to small?

    What cause's the wrist pins to go on these things. Is it the sewing machine oil that they run on (5w30) or is it from having someone put thicker stuff in (10w30/40), or is it the metals used in the build of the pistons and connecting rods? or is it something else?
