Many of them involve MISusing one or more articles of clothing so since we paid for them with our hard-earned money, why do we do it? i.e. slashed jeans, torn shirts, etc.

Of course it wasn't a nice thing to do, but given how often the media invades the average person's life for a headline, doesn't it serve them right? When you answer this, please don't tell me things like,"The press is just trying to accurately represent the news, and this kid sabotaged that"...
