Personally, I think he's just blowing you off. No matter how busy one is, they will probably make time for their date.
Maybe his other date blew him off.
My suggestion? Just meet a new guy.
1) I think you should leave your ex and not return to him. He's not going to change. You're right not to believe him.
2) I think you should not meet him or take his calls anymore.
3) Also, it seems he's very jealous person. It's not good to hang out w him.
