    Using a Sony Ericsson just as an MP3 player?

    A little while ago my friend gave me his Sony Ericsson phone because he upgraded to an iPhone. Unfortunately, it was an AT&T phone (I have Verizon) I'm wondering if I can just use it as an MP3 without having to buy service for it or have a "smartchip" in it. Is this possible?
