    Purpose of the " Tilt" lever thing on my 1992 Toyota 4Runner V6 Automatic?

    Behind my steering wheel on the left side there is a lever looking thing that says "Tilt" on it and has like a triangle thing on it, I have googled it and i just cannot find out what it is. It's about 2 inches long and kinda jiggles around, I cannot seem to make it move much or lock into place...
