I have a wood subfloor in the kitchen with linoleum on top. I want to put 1/4" or 1/2" cement board down then 12" ceramic tile. Is this acceptable to do on linoleum wood subfloors? I would prefer to use 1/4" cement board if it acceptable. Do I need to brace the main floor in some way?
