    What's wrong with my N64 if the television recognizes it but won't display anything?

    So I plugged my N64 into the TV. When the TV is on, without the N64, its static. When I turn the N64 on (and I know its on because the light is on), the TV goes black. So it acknowledges the console,but it won't play any of the games. Any idea what's wrong?
