If the video file has not been fully downloaded it may be missing the video stream and the video play cannot playback the video properly.
Wait until the video is fully downloaded. Or, try using VLC player to play the video.
Sorry but Intel Mobile graphics have very limited support for games. There is no work around.
You just have to accept the limitations of your hardware.
Plants and Zombies though, should work. It's a great little 2d game.

It would actually be worse. USB flash drives are much, much slower than your internal SATA drive.
As said, the best upgrade would be a solid state SSD drive.
For performance increases relating to framerates though, you would be better off upgrading your video card, because FSX eats video...
