I look really funny in pictures where flash has been used in a dark room like a nightclub, however in photos where there is no flash I look alright. Is there any reason for this?

Me and this girl have been texting each others phones and sending each other messages through social networking sights and she wants to call me later on today, but i really hate talking on the phone and don't know what conversations to have. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks
